At this point
you have successfully registered SpotCheck and the payment transaction has been
processed. You now receive a unique serial number
via e-mail or postal mail which ever you have chosen.
This serial number will allow you to complete the
authorization process. This process ends the demo period
and binds the application to the machine. In order to authorize Spotcheck, please follow these steps.
- Launch your trial
version of SpotCheck. If your SpotCheck is still in a demo mode, you
are presented the following warning alert dialog
box on start up.
- Click the
"Authorize" button from the demo
warning alert. If you don’t see the warning
alert at launch then you can expire the demo by
turning the date forward, launching the
application, then turning the date back.
Alternatively, you can hold down the control and
space keys at launch to force the authorization
dialog to appear.
- Next, you are presented
the Serial # Dialog.
Notice the serial number
is a group of fairly simple English words ( ie. MARS
SNOW FITS HOGS ) rather than a complex series of
unrelated number and letters. This helps facilitate
easy and correct entry on the first attempt. Enter
the serial number or paste it from your e-mail, then
click the OK button. At this point your application
is bound to your system and authorized to run.
This process will create a
number of authorization files and
folders on
your hard drive. These files are needed for SpotCheck
to continue to run as a fully functional application.
These files do not interfere with any other applications
or system functions.
